Norway II.

This is coolbert:

Conclusion.

Here is another aspect of World War Two [WW2] that some Norwegians would rather forget?

Lebensborn!

A German eugenics program from the period. German soldiers, an occupying force in Norway, were encouraged to establish romantic liaisons with Norwegian young women. For the purpose of begating themselves, the offspring of which was the desired blond, blue-eyed youngster that was so dear to the Nazi movement.

A program, carried out with some success. In many cases, there was little if any coercion involved, both parties to the begating process being willing participants. NO coaxing or urging generally involved.

"In total, between 9 and 15 Lebensborn homes were established [in Norway]. Of the estimated 10,000 - 12,000 children born by German fathers and Norwegian mothers during the war, 8,000 were registered by Abteilung Lebensborn. In 4,000 of these cases the father is known."

No less person that one of the two female singers from the famous Swedish rock group ABBA, Anni-Frida Lyngstadt, is the offspring of a German soldier and a Norweigian young woman.

Ostracized, shunned, and generally reviled, the mothers with their young children often had to flee Norway, quite often moving to Sweden. [this was the case with Anni-Frida and her mother!]

"During and after the war, the Norwegians commonly referred to these children as tyskerunger, translating as "German-kids" or "Kraut kids", a derogatory term."

"In early 1947, Lyngstad, her mother, and her maternal grandmother, Arntine Lyngstad, left her birthplace because of fear of reprisals from people vengeful towards those who had dealings with the Germans during the occupation."

IT IS EVEN SUGGESTED, THAT THESE WAR CHILDREN [THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE REFERRED TO AS], DECADES AFTER THE END OF THE WAR, WERE SUBJECTED TO LSD EXPERIMENTATION, CARRIED OUT BY THE CIA WITH THE CONNIVANCE OF THE NORWEGIAN GOVERNMENT!

Again, modern Norway likes to think of itself as a tolerant, open, peaceful society, a model of the prosperous welfare state that provides for all.

But, again, in the aftermath of war [WW2], we find circumstances where folks, the Norwegians, were NOT so tolerant, open, and peaceful!!

Such is often the result of war.
