Pen & Sword.

This is coolbert:

"Calamus Gladio Fortior"

"The pen is mightier than the sword". Attributed to Edward Bulwer-Lytton.

The famous French Cardinal Richelieu in the HABIT of wearing a sword. This seen as a contradiction. A holy man is not supposed to carry a weapon? It is fact also that JESUS commanded his own Apostles to carry swords for their protection. JESUS not encouraging but commanding! Lytton also not the FIRST to "pronounce" "the pen mightier than the sword".

"True, This! —
Beneath the rule of men entirely great
The pen is mightier than the sword. Behold
The arch-enchanters wand! — itself is nothing! —
But taking sorcery from the master-hand
To paralyze the Cæsars, and to strike
The loud earth breathless! — Take away the sword —
States can be saved without it!" - -

From "Richelieu; Or the Conspiracy" by Lytton.

Here with further quotations for your consideration "the pen is mightier than the sword". The first a fake the second purportedly and probably correctly attributed.

"The pen is mightier than the sword, if it's a really small sword." - - Buck Swamp.

"Whoever said that the pen was mightier than the sword obviously has never encountered automatic weapons." - - D. MacArthur.

Buck Swamp and Douglas both correct? You the devoted reader to the blog decide for yourself!
